Is Former Lost Star Evangeline Lilly Pregnant?
'Superman' Star Michael Shannon Calls Zod Casting 'Ridiculous'
'It just came out of nowhere,' actor said of getting the role.

When we met Henry Cavill at WonderCon recently, the actor couldn't quite wrap his head around the idea, even months after being tapped for the job, that he'll be donning Superman's cape and becoming the Man of Steel for a new generation.
Michael Shannon, by contrast, was only officially announced as General Zod — the villainous alien who'll face off against Superman in Warner Bros.' "Man of Steel" — on Sunday.
Yet he too is having a hard time comprehending the fact that he's now a part of the franchise.
"This 'Superman' thing is ridiculous. It just came out of nowhere," Shannon said in his first public comments about the casting, delivered during an appearance at RiverRun International Film Festival in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. "I was talking to my agent ... she's like, 'How about 'Superman'? I'm like, 'What?' The idea that I would ever be in 'Superman'! I'm like, 'Are you serious?' "
It was true: Director Zack Snyder wanted Shannon, who nabbed an Oscar nod for "Revolutionary Road" but is perhaps best known for his turn on HBO's "Boardwalk Empire," for the role of Zod (a part previously played by Terence Stamp in "Superman" and "Superman II"). So Shannon headed out to meet Snyder.
"[H]e's seriously sitting there and he's telling me, 'You can't read the script, so I'm just gonna tell you what happens.' And he spent a half hour telling me every scene in this movie," Shannon said, adding with a laugh, "he's at his home in Pasadena and I'm looking out — there's the Rose Bowl, there's little hummingbirds flying around. I'm like, 'I'm on acid!' "
Snyder eventually decided Shannon was the right guy for the part, but the director had to convince the higher-ups at WB. They ended up bringing him in to read with Cavill. "They said, 'You have to come back because we want to see if you and Superman have chemistry,' " Shannon explained.
A month after that first meeting, Shannon said, the part was his. And what does he think of Cavill as Superman? "I think this guy will be all right," Shannon said.

Only one more day until "Twilight" superstar Taylor Lautner graces MTV News with his hunky presence for "MTV First: Taylor Lautner," which premieres on air and online Wednesday at 7:56 p.m. ET. The 19-year-old star will exclusively debut the first trailer from his upcoming action/thriller "Abduction," after which the conversation will move to MTV.com where Lautner will sit down with MTV News' Josh Horowitz for a 30-minute interview.
If you Lautner fans weren't already excited about this exclusive event, we've got a little sneak peek of what you'll be privy to when you tune in and log on for our latest "MTV First." During the interview, Lautner discusses the similarities and inevitable comparisons between his confused young character, Nathan Price, and Jason Bourne.
"I would say Nathan Price's journey takes place before Jason Bourne's started," Lautner explained. "When Jason realized, when he was searching for his true identity, he was already a trained expert."
How about Nathan vs. Jason — who would win? "I think Nathan would need a little more training," Lautner said. "Give him a couple years, and we'll get there."
Lautner's co-star Lily Collins recently offered her thoughts on the Bourne comparisons, giving major props to Lautner for his work on the film.
"[He is] very Jason Bourne-esque, of course, with his own twist on it," Collins explained to MTV News of Taylor's character in the film. "It's a complete departure from Jacob. Obviously I'm in the movie so I'm biased, but I think it's going to completely shock his fans, and people that necessarily don't know him very well as Jacob that aren't 'Twilight' fans. I think he brings an aspect people haven't seen yet and [it's] very, very exciting."
Don't miss "MTV First: Taylor Lautner" this Wednesday at 7:56 p.m. ET on MTV and MTV.com. Tune in to see Lautner debut the trailer for "Abduction," followed by a live 30-minute interview on MTV.com. Tweet questions using the hashtag #asktaylor to get in the conversation!

Emma Roberts: "I've Never Had Boobs in My Life"
Emma Roberts may not be the curviest girl out there, but the young actress has come to terms with her body, and is working with what she was born with. Which is plenty, if you ask us!
"Sexy when I was younger always meant boobs, and I've never had boobs in my life, so I always felt that sexy was out of the question for me," the Scream 4 star tells Seventeen's May issue. "I used to really want to be that kind of voluptuous girl, and I've just kid of embraced that I'm not."
In her younger years, Roberts, now 20, says she wasn't very good at going with the flow, and wasn't exactly sure what she wanted. "[I felt] like I was always in a rush to get somewhere," she told the mag. "When I had no idea where that was."
Now, she's slowed down, focused and is taking it all in. ""I want to be young and have fun," she beamed. "Now I just feel content, and I feel like that's a nice place to be."
With age, the actress says she's gained clarity on what she's looking for.
"I've learned that I want to have great people in my life and lots of love in my life, and just enjoy it," she says. "I wish I had realized that sooner."
At 20, we think Roberts is ahead of the game and should cut herself some slack - she's already very wise beyond her years.

Michael Jackson Wrongful Death Suit Vs. AEG Can Proceed, Judge Rules
Katherine Jackson and family are pursuing a claim against concert promoter.
By Gil Kaufman
When he was alive, Michael Jackson was forever embroiled in a series of complex and expensive-sounding lawsuits. But even in death, the late King of Pop is the subject of major legal action. None could potentially be bigger than the wrongful death lawsuit filed by the pop icon's mother, Katherine Jackson, against concert promotion giant AEG Live.
Reuters reported that a Los Angeles judge ruled on Wednesday that the civil lawsuit can go forward. It will proceed in parallel with the criminal case against Jackson's physician, Dr. Conrad Murray, who has been charged with involuntary manslaughter in connection with Jackson's June 2009 death from an overdose of the powerful surgical anesthetic propofol. Murray is the only person charged in Jackson's death and he is currently awaiting trial in that matter.
Katherine Jackson's lawsuit — filed in September on behalf of her and Jackson's three young children — accuses AEG of being responsible for the medical decisions made by Murray, whose salary was paid by the touring company behind Jackson's attempted "This Is It" comeback shows in London. Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Yvette Palazuelos denied a motion on Wednesday by AEG to dismiss Katherine Jackson's suit, but warned Jackson's attorneys that they would need to show evidence of "fraud, negligent infliction of emotional distress and civil conspiracy" in order to win the case.
The judge has already said she doubts they can prove the latter charge, because the suit does not detail any agreement between Murray and AEG to break the law in providing medical care to Jackson.
"If the object was to get him to rehearsals, I don't see that as a wrongful or illegal act," the judge said. A lawyer for AEG told the judge that the company could not have predicted beforehand that Murray's medical decisions would result in Jackson's death. Court papers also show that AEG "did not choose to hire Murray" and had only participated in negotiations to bring him on as an independent contractor. Michael, who had previously been treated by Murray in Las Vegas, was reportedly the one who suggested the cardiologist serve as his personal, on-call physician during the "This Is It" rehearsals and shows.
Katherine Jackson's attorney recently dropped choreographer Kenny Ortega from the lawsuit based on new information they received about his actions. The next hearing in the case is scheduled for March 22, just six days before Murray is due back in court for his trial. Jackson's father, Joseph, has twice attempted to file a wrongful death suit in the matter, though his is focused on Murray and the Las Vegas pharmacy that supplied the propofol, not AEG Live.

'Arthur' Leading Ladies Muse On Film's 'Charming' Billionaire Drunk
'If he came into a party I was in, I would be out of that party so fast,' Helen Mirren laughs to MTV News about Russell Brand's character.
By Kara Warner

For some people, the idea of meeting and hanging out with a hapless, immature and perpetually drunk billionaire sounds like a great time. For others, not so much. Such is the case with the leading ladies of "Arthur," in which Russell Brand stars as the aforementioned reckless billionaire, with Helen Mirren playing his very patient nanny, Hobson, and Greta Gerwig his love interest, Naomi.
When MTV News caught up with Mirren and Gerwig recently, we asked them how they would react to meeting Arthur in real life.
"Oh, [I would] fall in love with him," Gerwig enthused. "He's so funny! I don't know, it's hard to separate [Brand from his character, but Arthur] is so funny and charming and crazy, who wouldn't?" she reasoned. "I think that's the point of the movie."
Mirren, on the other hand, didn't think meeting Arthur would be quite as much fun.
"I think if I met Arthur, I just would have no time for him whatsoever," she said. "If he came into a party I was in, I would be out of that party so fast," she said with a chuckle. "But, maybe I'd bump into him somewhere and be charmed by him, but I would certainly never find myself in a position of looking after him."
Speaking to the idea of employing the esteemed Oscar-winner as a nanny, Brand, naturally, was very keen on the concept." Helen Mirren, who plays Hobson, my nanny, in this lovely, fun-filled film 'Arthur,' would be a bloody good nanny," Brand told us. "She's fantastic at looking after you; she has authority and sensitivity."
Check out everything we've got on "Arthur."
